Bible Verse of the Week:

“I run in the path of your commands, for You have set my heart free.” (Psalms 119:32)

This week we are reminded that when we keep God at the centre of all that we do and leave our hearts open to receive of His will, we will begin to uncover His beautiful plan for our lives. No longer shall we walk in darkness, but run free in the light of His perfect love, for with God, through God and in God, we have freedom beyond our imagination.

Thoughts for the Soul

“It does not make any sense if you put your shackles back on once you’ve set yourself free. Let the shackles of sin, temptation and evil go, but always hold onto the key. Hold onto God”

“Your thoughts”

Jacinta on Freedom: I encourage those who look at their lives at the end of the day and do not like the person they have become, to go on a Fast to Freedom. Grab a journal, write down the habits you have accumulated that are controlling you, then intentionally change the way you think. Turn those habits into good character!! Next step: Write about your journey! There’s nothing better than seeing how far you’ve come. Don’t forget to enlist the power of the Holy Spirit, some good friends and some positive reading. Good Luck! Release those shackles! Read more of this post

BASICAugust: Freedom

Bible Verse of the Week

“Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.” (1 Peter 2:16)

Peter begins to uncover an answer to our questions about what it truly means to be free. This week’s verse speaks of the responsibility that comes when we are blessed with the gift of freedom. God seeks to remind us that as we journey through this life, we are called to live in a way that enhances His light over the world, rather than one that casts a shadow. Although this may not always be easy, rest assured, that when you walk in faith with God, it will always be worth it. Read more of this post

Bible Verse of the Week
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

BASICaugust: FREEDOM

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)”

What does this mean? Well, have you ever had an addiction or a fear that made you feel helpless? Or like a slave to it? This month at BASICGIFT as we begin our long walk to freedom, we’re focusing on God’s word and searching for the truth! Most of all, we are searching for God! So, as you walk with courage and purpose through the streets of this month, we ask that you take a moment to pause in prayer, to sift through the noise of your every day life and to simply listen to what God is trying to share with you today!
