Christmas Connect

The word Advent comes from the Latin word adventus, which means coming. Christians celebrate the four weeks before Christmas as a time to reflect on and anticipate the “coming” of Christ at Christmas as well as the “coming” of Christ at the end of time.

BASIC GIFT will have its LAST connect of the year, so it’s the perfect time for anyone who has been wanting to come to youth nights this year, but haven’t been able to make it, to join us at this festive time of year to grow in faith together!

What to bring:
• It’s going to be an exciting night where we will ask everyone to spend less than $10 on a Kris Kringle present to exchange on the night!!
• And what better way to celebrate any festive season, then with FOOD. We ask that everyone brings a small plate to share on the night.
• Plus 1!

There will be BonBons as well so don’t miss out!

Carols in the Park

BASIC GIFT have been invited yet again to perform at this Sunday’s Carols in the Park at Mamre Homestead! The youth music ministry a.k.a BASIC Soul have performed in previous years and are psyched to have been given the opportunity once more. This is an ecumenical event that brings choirs from different Christian denominations in the St Clair – Erskine Park area.

So come along, bring the family, bring your friends for a night full of song and maybe dance, and watch BASIC GIFT represent up on stage. We might even get the chance of fireworks at the end of the night. Magical! ALL ARE WELCOME!

Carolling 2010

Here ye! Here ye! Carolling is back and better than ever! It’s every Friday and Saturday for the next two weeks! Come to the church at 6.30pm for a quick tune up and then travel around to different homes to bring some Christmas cheer (and… the occasional off note!) to some lovely people!

It really is important that BASIC is well represented as donations will go towards WYD! So please contribute while having some fun and raising some cash-ish for Basic-ish! ALL ARE WELCOME!

Carolling Dates:
Friday 10th of December
Saturday 11th of December

Please come to as many as possible! In the case of carolling and fundraising it really is the more the merrier and we’d love to see heaps of people there! Don’t be shy about singing; there’ll be a big group so there are no solos or anything! It should be loads of fun so please come and meet at the church Friday and Saturday!
